As part of the ifus Institute’s 15th restructuring conference at Heidelberg University, a discussion was recently held with the Chief Financial Officer and Transformation Officer ad interim,
DR. STEFAN GROS, took place recently. The questions were asked by DETLEF FLEISCHER (EXIS|TENZ MAGAZIN).

Dr. Stefan Gros, CFO and Transformation Officer a. i., looks back on three decades of experience in restructuring and corporate reorganization. The former patriarch at the top of the company has almost disappeared – today, investors, banks and regulators are shaping events. For Gros, successful restructuring remains above all a work of trust: openness, honesty and empathy are just as important as strategic clarity and speed. After three months, it must be clear where the journey is heading. A CRO must provide orientation, win people over and tell a common story. Communication, team spirit and a lived mission statement form the foundation of any sustainable transformation.

Conclusion:

Successful restructuring is more than just a matter of numbers – it is a matter of trust. Dr. Stefan Gros shows that change only succeeds when leadership demonstrates attitude, communicates clearly and takes people with it. Those who have the courage to make decisions and at the same time offer orientation create the basis for real, sustainable transformation.
